This is the light that made the bookmark format popular, and its appeal is the same now as it was then: it is light enough that a paperback does not tip forward when it is clipped on. The flat body sits along the top edge like a bookmark, the small lamp head swivels out, and that is more or less the whole design.

I like this light for what it refuses to be. At 40 g it is the least intrusive way to add light to a paper book, and on a mass-market paperback that matters more than extra LEDs. Five LEDs behind five brightness steps, and three colour temperatures of 1800K, 3400K and 6000K, cover what a bedtime reader uses, and the amber setting is the one that earns its place.
The battery claim is 10 to 80 hours from a 500 mAh cell, and the spread is the honest part. At full brightness you will be charging regularly with nightly reading. At the dimmest setting a charge lasts a long time. Glocusent gives no charge time.
The weak point is the connector. A USB-A charging port means carrying a cable you may otherwise no longer need, and if you lose it you will be hunting for an older lead rather than borrowing one. Glocusent sells upgraded versions of this design with USB-C and a timer, so check the price gap before you buy: when it is small, the upgraded version is the better purchase.
The head's swivel range and the clip's wide opening mean it will sit on most books, but the light is concentrated. On a thick hardback or a large-format book the far side of the page gets less of it, and that is where the Max, with its bigger head, justifies itself.
For a paperback reader who wants the lightest clip light going, this is still an easy recommendation, provided the older cable does not bother you. For everyone else, the newer models in the same range fix its two real weaknesses without changing what makes it pleasant to use.
